Brochure Folding Options Explained
Choose the right fold for your message, audience and distribution method. Every fold is machine-creased for clean, crack-free edges.
Single Fold / Bi-fold
The most common fold — one fold creates two panels on each side (four pages). Panels are equal width and fold parallel in the same direction, making it ideal for company profiles, menus and simple product showcases.
Tri-fold
Two parallel folds create three panels on each side (six pages). The inside panels are slightly smaller than the outer panels so they nest neatly without buckling — perfect for sales kits, mailers and takeaway brochures.
Double Parallel Fold / Four Panel
The sheet is folded in half and then in half again, parallel to the first fold, creating eight pages (four per side). Inside panels are trimmed slightly smaller than outer panels for a flush finish — great for long menus, timelines and programme guides.
Concertina / Z-Fold
Folds alternate back and forth like an accordion or letter Z, creating a continuous strip of panels. Opens fully in one pull — excellent for technical sheets, maps, event schedules and instruction guides.
Gatefold
Two parallel folds create six panels. The left and right panels are roughly half the width of the centre panel and fold inward to meet in the middle without overlapping. A dramatic reveal that works beautifully for luxury brands, wedding invites and premium launches.
